Alvin Eloid Reavis, Jr. Obituary (1974

Alvin Jr., was born October 6, 1974 to Mildred Woodson Reavis and Alvin E. Reavis, Sr. He was the second child and the oldest son born to this union. From birth "AJ" provided smiles, joy, and happiness to his family. Alvin Jr. was baptized and joined the St. Matthew's Baptist Church at the age of seven. He was one of the smallest and fastest to ever play with the Kenbridge Comets. Alvin Jr., graduated with the Class of 1992, from the Central High School, Victoria, Virginia. Alvin Jr., was a very fun loving and caring person. He would do whatever needed to be done for whoever needed it. He gave of his services when his dad had major burns in December 2017, by daily attending to his father's needs. He gave comfort to his Uncle Darrell when he had major surgery and needed a support system. He was a helping hand and companion to Mr. James Blackwell, due to his blindness. He gave laughter to his many friends and co-workers. "Head", as he was affectionately known, was the life of the party. Alvin Jr., lived a full life, enjoying his family, his many friends, his co-workers, neighbors and all that knew him. He was such a joy to be around. He loved to joke, party and laugh. He loved music and Pittsburg Steelers. He loved the Steelers so much his first dog was named Franco Harris. When he loved he really loved hard. He bragged on his ability to beat the best at chess. He answered the questions on Jeopardy and knew trivia that he called "a lot of useless information". Alvin Jr. loved to cook and serve others his different recipes. He would put something on the grill and talked about how good it was before it was ready to be eaten. But most of all, Alvin Jr. loved his family. His children were his world. He knew that life was a special gift from God and wanted his children and family to have the best. On January 16, 2019, Alvin Jr. finished his life's assignment. His road was getting rough and his hill was hard to climb, and little did we know that "Junnie" was ready to join his PaPa-John-John. He met his call quietly and alone. Depression had him down and he thought this was the only way out. Alvin Jr. had a loving heart and an undying love for his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Mildred Reavis and his devoted and loving father, Alvin Reavis, Sr. (Beulah), his six children: Alvin E. Reavis III, Khailan M. Webb, Kaidaira N. Blackwell, Kaidai N. Blackwell, Alysa E. Reavis and Aja E. Reavis; his siblings, a devoted sister, Arnita L. Reavis, his loving sister, Shawn T. Smith, his caring brother, Marcus J. Bell and a loyal brother, TaVaris J. Reavis: his grandchildren, Brandan D. Reavis, Kyleigh S. Jones, Khailan M. Webb Jr., and two precious bundles of joy that will be born in April 2019. His Aunts; Beulah P. Reavis, Melba Reavis, Ruth W. Shelton, Yvonne W. Bridgeforth and Darlene W. Brown; Uncles; Robert L. Stokes, Sr., Vernon G. Reavis (Jeanette), James C. Reavis (Louise), Hannie L. Woodson,Jr., Derrick L. Woodson and Darrell L. Woodson, His nieces and nephews; DaZaai J. Reavis, Sherard K. Tisdale, Malaya C. Bell and Destiny L. Mears. His great- nieces and nephew, his loving cousins, many devoted friends and his special loves, Joyce and Justin Blackwell. Alvin Jr. led a happy yet fun- filled life. We thank God for all the memories! We thank God for sharing him with us for 44 years. The ups, the downs, the good and the bad, through it all the LOVE was FIERCE!!! God has him now and for that we are grateful. We know he's up there shining bright. He finally has the peace he needs. Fly high "Smooth"- smile hard and know that you are BEYOND LOVED!!!!
