Arentha Johnson Bagley Obituary (1923

OBITUARY Arentha Johnson Bagley was born April 4, 1923 in Meherrin, VA. She was the sixth, and last surviving, of nine children born to the late Rother and Lottie Cousins Johnson. She joined and was baptized at Mt Moriah Baptist Church at an early age. She graduated from Lunenburg Training School in 1941. Soon thereafter, she married the late James Bagley of Kenbridge, VA and moved to Baltimore, MD. They had no children but received joy from their many nieces and nephews. She worked at various jobs until 1961 when she began employment with Baltimore City Hospital. She remained there until her retirement in 1986. In 1989, she returned to Lunenburg County and reunited with Mt Moriah Baptist Church. She remained a supportive member until her health declined. In July 2013, she experienced a health incident which resulted in her hospitalization in the Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill, VA. She recovered only enough to be transferred it's Extended Care Facility--The Hundley Center. On April 16, 2014 Arentha Johnson Bagley transitioned to her new home. Although all of her immediate family preceded her in death, she leaves to mourn her passing her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. funeral service were held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 @ 11:00am in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Victoria, Virginia.
