Arthur Edward "Rooster" Graves, Sr. Obituary (1956

Arthur Edward Graves, Sr. better known as "Rooster" was born January 9, 1956 to Jimmie and Louise Dailey Graves of Kenbridge, Virginia. He was educated in the Lunenburg County public school system. Anyone who knew Rooster knew he was a quiet soul. As a good listener, he would take the time to listen to anyone's problems. At an early age he joined Friendship Baptist Church in Kenbridge, Virginia. He spent many years as a foreman on the Bacon's Farm until he became ill and his health began to fail. His new hobbies were watching TV and eating barbecue potato chips. Rooster entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie; brothers, Charles and Jimmie R. Graves; sisters, Nannie Jones and Shirley Graves; granddaughter, Sarissa Hurt He is survived by his wife, Julia of the home; daughter, Tanya Hurt (Chris) of Victoria, Virginia; sons, Arthur, Jr (Pamela) Kenbridge, Virginia and Dwayne of Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Desiree and Darius Hurt; mother, Louise Graves of Victoria, Virginia; sisters, Patty Malone of Lawrenceville, Virginia and Carolyn Graves of Victoria, Virginia; uncles, Tommie Graves (Dorothy) and Robert Jones all of Kenbridge, Virginia two brothers-in-law, John May (Maxine) and Douglas May (Caroline); three sisters-in-law, Hostine May (Herbert Lee), Brenda Cleaton (Isaac) and Doretha Baskerville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
