Blaze Zeller Hickson Tisdale

Our beloved Blaze Zella Tisdale transitioned to be with our Lord Jesus Christ early morning hours Tuesday October 29,2024. Blaze was born on June 21, 1937, to the late Emma Bell Hickson and the late Fleet Hickson.
Blaze Zella attended Lunenburg public schools. She joined Blackwell Temple Church and later joined St Matthews Baptist Church until her health start declining.
She held various employments. She started as a general laborer at Commonwealth Tobacco Co. Later, she was hired as a cook at Fort Picket Army Base, and finally was hired as a staff member at Mildred Meals.
Her favorite gospel songs were "Oh happy Day" and "Going Up A Yonder". She also love watching lifetime movies and westerns. She loved coloring, sewing dolls clothes, painting her nails, dancing and putting red lipstick on.
Blaze was preceded in death by her spouse Harry "Fuzzy" Tisdale; Siblings Charles Hickson, Junius Hickson, Sammy Hickson, Shirley Hicks and Ernest Hickson. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters Phyllis Hickson of Kenbridge VA, Alease Coles (David Lee) of South Hill VA, Melissa Edmonds of Smithfield NC; two sons Michael Edmonds of Kenbridge VA, and John Edmonds of Charlottesville VA; one loving devoted sister Crystal Toone of Victoria VA; one sister-n law Dottie Hickson of Kenbridge VA; three step children Sam, Charlotte, and Alvester all of Kenbridge VA; 17 grandchildren, 42 great grand children and 8 great great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Best friends were the late Hattie Mae Williams, Betsie Barnes, and Charlotte Barnes
