Cluadia Mae "Tina" Nelson-Winn Obituary (1936

Claudia Mae "Tina" Nelson-Winn was born March 11, 1936 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to Willie Ralph Nelson and Claudia Mae Wilson. Tina was known for her sharp intellect, sense of humor, reading crossword puzzles, the love of any type of animal/insects and for her compassionate endless support in whatever endeavor one was striving towards; especially with her children and grandchildren. Tina cherished spending time with her family during the holiday (looking for some type of gift; Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies in the red pack, Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice, Double Mint chewing gum and Tylenol (no off brand). Throughout Tina's life, she loved the Lord and didn't mind calling on him anywhere or anytime. There was always a spiritual focus on Tina's life. Life was something she actively embraced, not something for which she waited to come to her. In her later years she moved to Dinwiddie County and began to work with her devoted friend Gloria Dance-the oldest living Miss Virginia in Petersburg, Virginia. Tina and Gloria's friendship was like stars. She loved Gloria and W.F. Dance family as her own; Forrest, Marlon and Cherie. "Miss Tina" was loved by all of Gloria's children, grandchildren and attended family gatherings as one. Tina also known as "Kitty Cat" memory will be carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Claudia Mae "Tina" Nelson-Winn age 88, passed away in her home on June 28, 2024, surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her husband James Arthur, Winn Sr., mother, father and siblings, Wiley Nelson, Emma Hargro, Earl Nelson and granddaughter, Latoya Winn. She is survived by three children, Feleica Coleman and Vanessa Winn Greene; one son Larry Logan; nine grandchildren, Herman (Sharae) Rainey, Tina (Antonio) Coleman, Andre Rainey, Brandon, Anthony (Shawn) Williams, Liisa Barnes, Terry Hazelwood, Daitrus (Elizabeth) Reavis, Shawn (April) Winn, Day-Vale Winn, DeChandra Winn; thirty plus great-grandchildren; one devoted great- grandchild, Trinity Freeman, one sister-in-law, Minnie Nelson and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
