Daniel James Davis

Daniel James Davis, Jr. fondly known as "Buck" was born on October 25, 1947, to Amanda Hayes Davis and Daniel James Davis Sr. in Victoria, Virginia.
He received his education in the Lunenburg County Public Schools System. At an early age he joined and attended First Baptist Church, Victoria Virginia.
In 1967, he moved to New York, later he moved to New Jersey where he met and married Delsia Ree in 1974 and they settled in Mississippi for the next several years. In the 1990s, Daniel moved back to his hometown of Victoria, Virginia where he was employed at Imperial Processing, Kenbridge, Virginia until his well-deserved retirement.
Buck departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, Virginia after a brief illness.
Buck was truly blessed. He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Amanda and Daniel Davis, his beloved brothers: Marvin, Frank, John B., and Willie Davis and his forever cherished sisters: Beatrice and Barbara Jean Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Delsia Ree Davis of Austell, Georgia; his children, Dannyell Denise Thomas of Petersburg, Virginia, Daniel DeJuan Davis (Shireen) of Powder Springs, Georgia; Devin Andre Davis and DyShica Shantell Davis both of Austell, Georgia; his grandchildren, Cayden and Tierra, his sisters Lucy Marable and Dorothy Hite, both of Victoria VA; his brothers, Markquist Davis of Hackensack, New Jersey; Douglas Davis (Tony) of Crewe, VA; and Louis Davis of Victoria, Virginia; sisters-in-law Mary Davis of Oxford, North Carolina, and Rosa Lee Davis of Victoria Virginia, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A favorite cousin; Annie Ruth Strong of Jacksonville, Florida; and a devoted friend, Willie Crawley of Victoria, Virginia.
