Elsie Wingfield Jackson Obituary (1940

The Obituary To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2 Elsie Carolyn Ruth Winfield was born June 8, 1940 to Martha Ann and Edmond Junous Wingfield. She attended Lunenburg County Public School System. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church Kenbridge, Virginia until her health began to fail. On November 1, 1954 she was joined in holy matrimony to Limburg Jackson to this union nine children were born. Elsie was a home maker, a mother, factory worker and wonderful baby sitter to her grand kids. She was loving and kind mother and friend. She would go beyond the call of duty for her kids and we loved her dearly for that. Mommy, Aunt Elsie and grannie will truly be missed Preceded death by her husband, Linburg Jackson, sons, Jessie Jackson, Tommie Jackson and daughter, Pamela Jackson-Campbell, grandsons, Bryant Jackson and Christopher Gerard Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories: Clarence (Olivia) Jackson of Maryland, Carolyn Tennessee of Texas, Joy (Herbert) Hughes, Linda (Michael) Taylor, Rosa Jackson, Charles Jackson all of Virginia, Lisa (Quinton) Smithson of South Carolina, 23 grandchildren, 19, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, three sisters, Sarah Wingfield, Penny Gee, and Thelma Felder, one brother Lawrence (Justine) Wingfield, two god nieces, Barbara Coles and Shirley Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
