Gertrude E. "Frenchie" Ballard-Gordon Obituary (1963

Frenchie was born Gertrude E. Ballard to Bennie Lamb and Selina Geveva Dingle on December 24, 1963 in Philadelphia, P.A. She attended Philadelphia public schools, graduating from Germantown High School in 1981. Quickly thereafter, she gained a Master's Degree in People Psychology. She welcomed two sons; Eric "Woo" and Andre "Grump" at an early age. Frenchie was the most loving, gentle and patient mother and grandmother. She worked several different jobs before deciding to do what she enjoyed doing the most. She met and married Leo Gordon on July 6, 2003 and was an extraordinary homemaker who loved to cook. In 2006 she gave birth to another son Gabriel Xavier Gordon. She is preceded in death by her son Eric "Woo" and father Bennie Lamb. She leaves to cherish her memories: loving husband, Leo Gordon; mother, Selina Geneva Boyd; a dear and special aunt, Anita Bundy; two sons, Andre (Joy) Ballard; Gabriel "Gabe" Gordon; two stepchildren, Cherelle Gordon and Leo Gordon II; seven grandchildren, Erica, Andre, Jr., Ashley Joy Ann, Erin, Andrew and Jordan Ballard and Samira Brown; four sisters, Sharon (Taron) Smith; Gina (James) Chaney; Dawn (Mikey) Ballard; Andrea "Andi" Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
