Kenbridge, Virginia
Juanita Gee Baine was born on February 3, 1945 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to Harlis E. Gee, Sr. and Marion Hopson Gee. She graduated from Lunenburg High School.
She married Lander Baine, Jr. on June 4, 1965 in Lunenburg County, Virginia with whom she had four children: Corwyn D. Baine (Sherrie), Adonica Baine (Kwame), Edward H. Baine (Kimberly), and Tylanderia Smithson. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and one great grandchild who brought her great joy and who loved her dearly.
She was the fourth of five siblings: Lois Browne (deceased), Nathaniel Gee (deceased), Mary Annette Jones, and Harlis Gee, Jr. They all have provided great foundations for those in the family that came behind them.
After high school, Juanita traveled to New York to work in a hospital. She returned to Lunenburg County when she married Lander. She made many sacrifices for her family. While raising the children, she worked on the farm in the fields and took care of the home; she also worked a second shift in the factories to provide opportunities for her children that would not have been possible otherwise. She also went back to school in order to follow her passion of helping others and finished her work career as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
She was an active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses until her health started to fail her. She was dedicated to her faith and was active in field service and other activities. She was a true believer and was a student of the word of God.
She loved spending time with friends and family. She was never one that minced words. You always knew that you were going to get the truth and her thoughts about a situation. You may not always like the delivery method, but you knew that it was the guidance that you needed at the time.
In addition to leaving behind her siblings and children, there are also six grandchildren (Jasmine, Kyle, Jalen, Jason Jr., Corwyn John, and Cameron) and one great grandchild (Nubia). She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Juanita will be forever remembered for her love for her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother not only to her own children but to many others who saw her as a mother figure. She has touched so many and will live eternally in all our hearts. We will miss her dearly.
Family will greet friends on Saturday Morning from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM
