Larry "Too Tall" Donnell Jones, Sr.

Larry Donnell Jones Sr. was born on April 30, 1962, to James Thomas Jones and Lillie Mae Jones of Victoria, VA. He was baptized and joined Starlight Baptist Church in Kenbridge VA at an early age. He received his education in the Lunenburg County Public School System.
Larry was married to his high school sweetheart Maggie Hendricks Jones. Together they raised two sons until her passing due to health issues. Larry was a hard worker and employed at several companies throughout Lunenburg during his life, most recently at Slurry Pavers Inc out of Richmond VA.
Larry was a wonderful father, son, husband, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Known to many as "Too Tall" because of his height. When he entered a room, you took notice, especially because most doorways he had to duck to come through. Growing up he definitely elevated at every sport he played and was a hardcore Miami Dolphin fan. He also loved to watch westerns, go fishing and a good game of horseshoes! Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him so much happiness. They were his pride and joy.
Larry departed this life on February 6, 2024, at home in Victoria, Virginia.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Maggie Hendricks-Jones, his father James Thomas Jones and brother Charles Leon Jones.
Larry is survived by his Mother, Lillie Mae Jones of Victoria, VA; one daughter: La'Shondra Blackwell of South Hill VA; Three sons: Demond Robertson Sr. North Carolina, Larry Jones Jr. (Klarencena Carter) of South Hill VA and Dimitri Jones (Maiya Lindsey) of Virginia Beach VA; Two sisters: Gladys Tisdale (Vernon, devoted best friend for over 25 years) of Victoria VA, Cynthia Jones-Boise of Randallstown MD; Two brothers: Thomas Jones (Sharon) of Crewe VA, and Rudy Booth of Blackstone VA; Two Aunts: Martha Robertson of Victoria VA and Mary Sue Taylor of Miami FL; Two Uncles: John Robertson of Victoria VA and Willie Abernathy of Columbus GA; Sisters-in-laws: Teresa Jones, Velma Lewis, Clara Walker, Joyce Hendricks; Brother-in-laws: William Alexander, Joseph Hendrick, Calvin Hendrick, James Walker; fourteen grandchildren, Zanayah, Faith, Demond Jr, Kamarie, Marquis, De'Mari, De'Mayaa, Jo'Tecion, A'moryah, Leviticus, Ty'Shaun, Tay'Vion, Taheem, Amara, a bonus daughter Quandranic and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
