Noyse Elson King, Sr. Obituary (1949

Noyse Elson King, Sr., affectionately known and deeply loved, was born on August 29, 1949, to the late Arber Lee King, Sr., and Frances Saunders King. On March 16, 2026, he peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of strength, service, and love that will live on in all who knew him. Noyse received his education at Lunenburg High School in Victoria, Virginia. He furthered his education at Southside Community College, where he earned certifications in barbering and cosmetology, along with degrees in Applied Science, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. He was a man who believed in growth, learning, and using his knowledge to uplift others. In November of 1968, Noyse answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. He served with honor and dedication until receiving his honorable discharge in February of 1971. His time in the military reflected his courage, discipline, and commitment to something greater than himself. Throughout his life, Noyse wore many hats and touched many lives through his work. He was employed with Estes Trucking For ten years, served with Lunenburg County Animal Control, work with STEP Head Start, and ultimately found purpose in his final role at Crossroads, where he served as a counselor. In each position, he brought compassion, wisdom, and a steady presence that made a difference in his community. In the year 2000, Noyse married the love of his life, April Delores Burley, and together they built a beautiful blended family rooted in love, unity, and resilience. Noyse was preceded in death by his father, Arber Lee King, Sr., his mother, Frances Saunders King, his sisters, Vivian Pryor, and Lillie Maude Pryor; his brother, Arber Lee King, Jr.; his son, Donnell; his daughter, Melissa King and Donnelle Williams. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife, April Delores King; his sons, Noyse Elson King, Jr., and Walter Ray King; and his daughters, Patrice King, Hope Williams, Kelly King, Dykia Burnette, Monique King, Danielle King, and Kiara King. He was proud grandfather of 28 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind a hose of nieces and nephews, too many to name, all of whom he loved dearly. Noyse will be remembered for his strength, his wisdom, his service, and most of all, his love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
