Rowland Jeffrey "Peter" Rainey, Sr. Obituary (1954

Rowland Jeffrey Rainey, Sr., (Peter) son of Sharpie E. and Lucy Harris Rainey was born August 23, 1954 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. He attended Lunenburg County Public Schools. At an early age he was baptized and joined New Galilee Baptist Church Kenbridge, Virginia and remained a member until his death. Peter enjoyed fishing, planting gardens, raising pigs and cutting wood. He was employed at T&J Farm Equipment of Chase City, Virginia for over forty years. He loved his work family; Gerald, Chris, Bobby, Jeff, Ann, and Kathy. He departed this life on May 4, 2019 at MCV Hospital Richmond, Virginia. He is preceded by his parents, Sharpie E. and Lucy Harris Rainey; two children, El Lekia Taylor and Christine Blue, along with six siblings; Lawrence, Cauline, Mae Pearl, Herman, Lee, Lucille, and Pauline. He leaves to cherish his memory: fiance' Dot of the home, two sons, Carnell and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Rainey of Lawrenceville, Virginia, two children he cherish as his own, Tony (Debbie) of Fredricksburg, Virginia, Sharvette of Meherrin, Virginia, daughter-in-law, Angie Taylor of Kenbridge, Virginia, seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, George Rainey of Victoria, Virginia, one sister, Fainey Crowder of Victoria, Virginia, one uncle, David (Mary) Harris, one aunt Dorothy Rainey, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
