Spencer Irby Hite Obituary (1941

The Obituary Spencer Irby Hite was born September 29, 1941 in Luneburg County, Virginia to Irby and Delsie Reese Hite. He departed his life on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Retreat Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Irby Hite, two sisters Dorothy and Frances Hite and a brother Charlie Hite. He attended the Lunenburg County Public Schools and at an early age joined Flat Rock Baptist Church. In 1963, he was joined in Holy matrimony to Emma L. Dow of Kenbridge, Virginia; from this union three children were born. During the course of his career, Spencer worked at Imperial Process and Tobacco Factory, both of Kenbridge, Virginia. He moved to Richmond, Virginia in 1973 and was employed at Standard Paper Company until he retired in 2009. Spencer, better known as "Hite" by all of his friends was the life of the party and he knew how to have a good time. He also was a die-hard James Brown fan. Hite was well liked and love by all that knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children: Sheila Hite of Kenbridge, Virginia, Sarah Hite of Richmond, Virginia, and Irby Hite of Kenbridge, Virginia; three grandchildren, DeAndra Meekins of Richmond, Virginia, Jai'Kera Hite of Victoria, Virginia, and Jaikale Hite of Kenbridge, Virginia, three great-grandchildren, Sharkeem Foster, Jaydan and Serenity Anderson all of Richmond, Virginia, his mother, Delsie Reese Hite, six sisters; and two brothers, Shirley Dow of Kenbridge, Virginia, Margaret Felder of Richmond, Virginia, Annie Garner (Joes) of Roanoke, Virginia, Mary Crawley (William) of Victoria, Virginia, William Hite (Mary Alice) of Richmond, Virginia, Ella Hite of Richmond, Virginia, Virginia Burrell of Richmond, Virginia, and George Hite (Angela) of Bon Air, GA., a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Service held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at S.P.Jones and Son Chapel, 208 North Broad St. Kenbridge, Virginia 23944 with burial at Falls Road Cemetery, Kenbridge, Virginia 23944 Reverend Yvonne W.
