Victoria, Virginia
Virginia Glasgow, affectionately known as Jenny Mae, was a beacon of warmth and love, who departed from this earthly realm on July 6, 2026. Born to Pearl and James Marshall on May 15, 1935, Virginia spent her life in Victoria, Virginia, where she was known for her generous spirit, humble nature, and unwavering support for her family.
A loving matriarch and member of the First Baptist Church, Virginia lived her faith every day. Her commitment to her family and her community was reflected in her chosen profession – housekeeping. She cherished the act of nurturing and providing for others, and found joy in keeping a warm and welcoming home. Virginia was a lover of simple pleasures, she delighted in having her hair done and being chauffeured around town. As Psalm 121:1-2 notes, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Virginia's faith was the foundation of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her journey.
Virginia leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in her surviving family members: her beloved children Stephen Glasgow (Dorothy), Priscilla Craig, Alan Glasgow, and step-son Edward Jr. A host of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and host nieces and nephews. Daughter-in-law Hattie Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents Pearl and James Marshall, and her son, James Marshall. Virginia's love for her family was deep and unwavering, particularly for her grandchildren who were the apples of her eye.
