Waddell Nathaniel Fowlkes

–

Kenbridge, Virginia

Waddell Nathaniel Fowlkes, son of the late Freddie, Sr. and Irene Fowlkes, was born October 2nd, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia. On Monday, March 30, 2026, Waddell peacefully entered into eternal rest in Richmond.
Waddell received his education in the public schools of Lunenburg County, Virginia. He was a devoted member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Kenbridge, Virginia, where he nurtured his faith and community ties.
Guided by a deep sense of duty, Waddell enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 30, 1970. He proudly served his country for eight years, demonstrating commitment, disciple, and honor throughout his military career.
Waddell valued the relationship he built over the years and maintained close bonds with his friends and loved ones. He held his family's history with great pride, often sharing stories that connected generations. Known as the family's unofficial historian, he could always be found with his iPad in hand (pictures please) capturing moments of joy, celebration, and togetherness. His dedication to preserving family memories created a legacy that will be cherished for years to come.
Waddell was united in marriage to Brenda Francis. He leaves to honor his memory his daughter, Sabrina Fowlkes (J.R.), his grandchildren, Breanna and Jalen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers George, Freddie Jr., and Earl; and his sister Hortense. He is survived by his sisters Annie and Vivian, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Waddell's life was marked by service, love, and a deep appreciation for family. His presence will be profoundly missed, and his legacy will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
